Our friends Fiona and Nick with kids Max and Jessica spent a few days with us at Huskisson before returning to Sydney on Thursday. We had a good few days with them. We took it very easy at the caravan park. There was a little pool very close to where we were setup so that was handy. The kids loved feeding the lorikeets that were very tame and there were dozens of them to be seen at once. Just amazing!
We spent an an afternoon at Hyams beach. Its sand is amazingly white! Nina had fun body boarding with her dad. Later on that day we went to the Greenpatch national park. Beautiful and peaceful spot! The beach looked very inviting. We could see a few wallabies. It's possible to camp there. The facilities looked great.
One afternoon, the kids came back from the local beach with buckets full of marine "treasures" like shark eggs, shells, etc. They were very excited over their findings.
One evening we enjoyed a walk along the scenic path from our caravan park to the center of Huskisson and enjoyed a very nice meal at the RSL.
On Thursday, we said goodbye to our friends who had to return their rental caravan to Sydney.

Shoalhaven Heads down south, February 13- 22
Our week at Shoalhaven Heads (Mountain View top tourist park, www.mtview.com.au) started with heavy rain and it seemed like it wasn't going to stop!!! The mozzies were very aggressive too!
Luckily the weather improved and the mood too as a few friends from Sydney came down for the weekend. Nina and Annabelle were so delighted to see their friends, and so were we! We had lot's of fun.
We all gathered around our big camping table (that was very handy!) at dinner time.
At the back of the caravan park, there was a huge field and a little area with goats and a lama. Absolute country! Everyone enjoyed feeding them.
There were jumping pillows there too, which was good, but the mozzies seemed to like the area too! There was a pool too that we all enjoyed when it got hot!
I went wine sampling with a few girlfriends in the 2 wineries close to the caravan park. We enjoyed the Two Figs winery very much! I recommend that one for sure.
Others with the kids went to the Jamberoo water park near Kiama. They loved it and can't wait to go back! They spent the whole day there and said it was worth every cent.
On Monday, 22nd we sadly said good bye to our friends who went back to Sydney and continued our journey with one couple of friend (also in a caravan) to Huskisson.

Nina and Annabelle are enjoying their new home
Narrabeen campsite...5 minutes away from the house
Sat, 30th January. We moved out and downsized from the lovely house we rent at Collaroy Plateau to our caravan!!!
We booked 2 weeks at the Narrabeen caravan park, just 5 minutes away from where we used to live...just in case we changed our mind!!! We never know...
Only joking. Narrabeen was convenient as Manfred worked until 9th.
It's a lovely caravan park, with lot's of rabbits and ducks. The girls loved chasing them! The playground is nice and well shaded.
The beach and rockpool are minutes away.
We had extreme weather conditions during those 2 weeks. Some days with heavy rain, some other days with very high temperatures.
I guess the heavy rain experience was a good test for the caravan. But luckily it is waterproof :-).
After all the good byes it was time to start our journey.
